Ahh the weather is turning crisp, football season begins this weekend, and I’m walking straight into the busiest fall of my life. And yet, I’m in a strangely good mood
There is certainly a lot to be thankful for in that statement alone! What else am I thankful for, why let me tell you.
1.) I’m thankful that the boy lobbied for the dog. Sure it’s a lot of work, but oh my goodness how that little guy makes me smile. I cannot wait to upload photos of him in his spiffy new #18 jersey…even if he hates it
2.) I’m thankful for Facebook that let me reconnect with two HS friends who I was able to visit while in Phoenix on a site this weekend.
3.) I’m thankful that I made it through yet another round of layoffs. As of yesterday I think that makes 6. And to boot they are actually following through and lightening my workload (I was doing the job of 1.5 ppl, no kidding). I’m worn out from this year, but really hopeful for the future.
4.)I’m super thankful that I get to see my parents, older brother, and his girlfriend at the beach in about a week…AT THE BEACH PEOPLE!
5.) I’m thankful that after several years of looking I finally found the “name” for the volunteer program I heard about when I first moved up here. It’s called being a cuddler, and it’s just that. My friend Cynthia P. told me about it, and said “It’s like rocking crack babies” and if you know Cynthia you’d know why that statement makes me giggle. Anywho, it’s just that, cuddling NICU babies to help them thrive, or calm down or whatnot. I’m not sure that I’ll be able to get in, I’m guessing they fill spots the min they open, but still I’m excited. I’ve been trying to do some stuff for me, stuff that I might like, that’s not work. So we’ll see. Fingers crossed!
And b/c today is such a good day
6.) I’m thankful that I ended up at our friends/neighbors end of summer BBQ last weekend. We finally met all sorts of neighbors that are our age. Most have kids, which is a bit surreal, but fun all the same
Happy Weekend!
